nimistu extension privacy

This policy covers the nimistu browser extension, which shows a nimistu.ee card on Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo search results when you look up an Estonian company or person.

What the extension does

On a Google, Bing or DuckDuckGo search page, the extension reads your search query and sends it to nimistu.ee to find matching companies and people. The matches are shown as a clean card above the results. The search engine's own results are never changed or removed.

Data the extension handles

• Search query — sent to nimistu.ee (/api/lookup) only to return matching register entries. It is not stored by the extension.
• Your settings (on/off, language, trigger-site list) — kept only in your browser (chrome.storage). They never leave your device.

What the extension does not do

• No accounts, no sign-in.
• No advertising, no analytics, no tracking.
• No collection of personally identifiable information, browsing history, or location.
• No selling, renting, or sharing of data with third parties.

Third parties

• Requests to nimistu.ee are subject to nimistu.ee's standard server logging (e.g. IP address and request), retained for security and operational purposes.
• A company's website icon (favicon) is loaded via Google's public favicon service.
